Improv Club is a weekly after-school program where participants will learn improv techniques, games, and scene-building skills while developing confidence, communication, creativity, and collaboration.

Improv is a style of live performance where everything is made up on the spot. There are no scripts to memorize. Performers work together to create characters, scenes, and stories in the moment.

Throughout the program, participants will build their skills through games and exercises, leading up to a final improv show for friends and family.

Improv Club is a brand-new offering from Next Draft, Theatre Direct’s program for teens, now in its sixth year.

All levels of experience are welcome. Snacks are provided. Bursaries and travel stipends are available.

Apply to our first-ever Improv Club cohort to be part of:

• Seven weeks of 2-hour after-school sessions, including a performance of an improv show for friends and family
• A group of twelve teen (13-19 years old) participants
• An opportunity to meet and build community with teens interested in theatre and the arts

For participants: The program is by application. Teens can apply online here or by filling out a hard copy of the application at select community organizations.

The deadline to apply is Wednesday October 7 at 11:59pm. All applicants will be notified whether or not they have received a spot the following day by e-mail and/or phone.
