An UnSpun Theatre Production produced in partnership with Theatre Direct
Little Wonder is supported by the Harbourfront Centre Performing Arts Technical Residency Program.
Little Wonder is a striking story of how adults often underestimate the very real world that children inhabit, how we don’t always listen to how they are feeling, and how very good children can be at solving problems if we let them.
In 1998, Ren and his daughter Sara (then 11-years old) were featured on “This American Life” in a story called “Age of Enchantment”. Together they recounted a strange situation: when Sara saw a Borrower – a 4-inch person – scurrying around their house, and started writing to the tiny creature. A yearlong correspondence ensues as Ren steps into the fantasy world that Sara created, inadvertently threatening it.
Previous supporters of Little Wonder include Toronto Arts Council, Canada Council for the Arts, Roseneath Theatre, Ontario Arts Council Theatre Creators’ Reserve program.
