Give ‘em Hell is a comedic play with heart written by Madeleine Brown and directed by Aaron Jan. It is inspired by the 2012 closure of Peterborough’s oldest high school, Peterborough Collegiate Vocational School (PCVS) and the resulting student activism that occurred over its final school year. Prairie Fire, Please (PFP) is Madeleine Brown and Aaron Jan, known for their back-to-back sold-out, critically- and audience- acclaimed productions at the Toronto Fringe Festival (2017-2019) and the Toronto revival of Canadian poet Molly Peacock’s The Shimmering Verge. The production will be produced and presented in partnership with: Theatre Direct, 4th Line Theatre and Peterborough Museum and Archives.

Please also indicate your 1) desired audition location, 2) your union status and 3) which of the three roles listed below you would like to be seen for. Selected candidates will receive audition sides to prepare.
Give ‘em Hell rehearsals start Monday August 21, 2023, previews Tuesday September 12, 2023 and closes Saturday September 23, 2023 in Peterborough, Ontario. All dates are subject to change. Accommodation and per diem will be provided for out of town artists.
We are casting three roles to perform alongside local teenage community members:
Adult Track 1: male-identifying, 30- to 45-years-old, imaginary friend to 14-year-old girl based on a Canadian political satirist
Adult Track 2: female-identifying, 35- to 50-years-old, multiple roles including parent, teacher, school board staff member and politician
Adult Track 3: male-identifying, 30- to 45-years-old, multiple roles including school board staff member, reporter, politician and motivational speaker–if you can play a mean acoustic version of the “Hokey Pokey,” we wanna see it!
