At Theatre Direct, we understand the very vital role that Early Childhood Educators play in the social, emotional and intellectual development of very young people.
We have a special focus in working with, and creating and presenting for, early years, so whether you work in a nursery, daycare centre or pre-school program with the TDSB, we have all kinds of offerings for both you and your pre-school aged students!
Check out our production of Old Man and the River, a story about a grumpy old man whose every day is the same and he likes it this way, until one day… a magical creature leaps into his world and everything changes! This beautifully designed puppetry work is performed without words to an enchanting musical score, and is perfect for very young audiences.
Don’t miss our WeeFestival of Theatre and Culture for Early Years (May 16-23, 2016), a pioneering event dedicated to the very young! Over one week, the festival will feature breathtaking theatre and performance from leading international theatre companies, created and presented especially for children 0-5 years. Stay tuned for our Weefestival Program Announcement on December 7th!
Tickets aren’t on sale yet, but if you’d like to be one of the first schools we contact about advance booking for Old Man and the River and the WeeFestival, please email Aimee at firstname.lastname@example.org with your interest.
We can work with you to develop tailor-made workshops to suit your class and current inquiry or unit of study! We’ll meet you at our theatre, or right in your classroom. To find out more or to discuss an idea for a workshop, contact Aimee, our Education Coordinator at email@example.com
